my stay at townsend was fantastic! the service was outstanding. when i ordered room service, the food was delivered promptly and was delicious. the room was spacious and nice, with a well-stocked mini bar and a big bathroom. i loved the atmosphere, which is new yet maintaining a historic charm.

We had such a blast at the HUB Stadium nearby, enjoying some football-themed fun with the whole family. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere really made our stay even more enjoyable. Staying with my adult kids, it was a hit!

My wife says that the pool could use more family-friendly hours.

Had trouble regulating the room temperature, which needed a few calls to maintenance but got sorted eventually. The lighting system proved frustrating, requiring multiple attempts to switch on or off. Housekeeping slammed doors repeatedly outside our suite while cleaning, which made it hard to relax. The fitness center feels neglected, with outdated equipment that nearly caused an injury due to rust. Overall, while the hotel has charm, the inconsistencies in maintenance and service took away from the experience.

I loved the Afternoon Tea Room. it was a perfect spot to unwind. The fireplace adds a cozy touch. The modern decor in the lobby is stunning. The Rugby Grille serves amazing dishes. My family and I felt pampered during our stay.

The location was perfect for exploring Birmingham, and the service at the Rugby Grille was incredible! However, the housekeeping could use improvement as they missed replenishing some basic items. 😊

However, the pricing could be on the higher side for some guests, and I wish there were more options at the Rugby Grill.

Just a smart choice for a weekend escape in Birmingham with very good value for money. The room service food was among the best we've ever experienced anywhere. Make sure to relax and enjoy the great food options.

The Luxury Suite was spacious and really nice. The bathroom was huge, which is a huge plus. The mini bar was restocked quickly, too. I loved the shower experience, felt super refreshing. But the room definitely showed some age with a few scuffs and scratches. Would’ve liked a more modern touch for the tech, too.
